Compress images without uploading them
Make photos lighter for a website, a form with a size limit or to send them fast. The codecs run in your browser, and you can strip the photo’s GPS location while you are at it.
Free, no sign-up and no watermark. It opens in your browser.
What it does
Shrink files with MozJPEG, palette PNG, OxiPNG, WebP, AVIF or JPEG XL.
How to use it
- Open “Compress image” and pick one or more photos.
- Choose the format and quality, or type the maximum size you need.
- Tap “Compress image” and download the photos, loose or in a .zip.
Your files never leave your device
ToGoOven runs “Compress image” in your browser, with code that runs on your device. The file is not uploaded to any server: nobody else sees it and it is not stored in someone else’s cloud.
If your device is slow or the file is very large, Premium lets you choose the ToGoOven server instead: only when you ask, with your permission for each job, and the file is deleted when it is done.
Frequently asked questions
Which format is smallest?
AVIF usually gives the lightest file; WebP is nearly as good and faster; JPG opens everywhere.
Is the location data removed?
By default, yes: the compressed photo comes out without EXIF or GPS. You can keep them if you need them.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No, unless you ask. “Compress image” runs in your browser; with Premium you can pick the ToGoOven server for a heavy file, which asks for your permission before sending it and deletes it when done.
Is it free?
Yes, and with no watermark. The free plan shows ads, kept apart and unable to see your files. Premium removes the ads, works offline and accepts larger files.
Does it work without internet?
With Premium, yes: the tools keep working offline. On the free plan you need a connection to open the app, although the file is still processed on your device.
