ToGoOven

Compress a PDF without uploading it

Shrink a heavy PDF to email it, send it in a chat or meet an upload limit. ToGoOven recompresses the photos and optimizes the file on your device, without sending it to any server.

Open “Compress PDF”

Free, no sign-up and no watermark. It opens in your browser.

What it does

Make the PDF smaller: recompress and downsample its photos and optimize the file, without changing what you see.

How to use it

  1. Open “Compress PDF” and pick one or more files.
  2. Choose the level (extreme, recommended or low) or type the maximum size you need.
  3. Tap “Compress PDF” and download the lighter file.

Your files never leave your device

ToGoOven runs “Compress PDF” in your browser, with code that runs on your device. The file is not uploaded to any server: nobody else sees it and it is not stored in someone else’s cloud.

If your device is slow or the file is very large, Premium lets you choose the ToGoOven server instead: only when you ask, with your permission for each job, and the file is deleted when it is done.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compress a PDF to an exact size, say 1 MB?

Yes. Type the maximum size and ToGoOven tunes the photo compression to stay under it, when the content allows.

Does the text look worse?

No. Compression works on the images; text and vector graphics stay the same. On “Low” the photos barely change.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No, unless you ask. “Compress PDF” runs in your browser; with Premium you can pick the ToGoOven server for a heavy file, which asks for your permission before sending it and deletes it when done.

Is it free?

Yes, and with no watermark. The free plan shows ads, kept apart and unable to see your files. Premium removes the ads, works offline and accepts larger files.

Does it work without internet?

With Premium, yes: the tools keep working offline. On the free plan you need a connection to open the app, although the file is still processed on your device.
