Turn an image into text
Copy the text from a photo of a document, a screenshot or a book page. ToGoOven recognizes it in your browser, straightens sideways photos and hands it over as Word, Markdown or text.
Free, no sign-up and no watermark. It opens in your browser.
What it does
Get the text out of photos and screenshots into an editable Word file, Markdown or plain text, with paragraphs, headings and lists.
How to use it
- Open “Image to text (OCR)” and pick the photos or screenshots.
- Choose the format (Word, Markdown or text) and the language.
- Tap “Image to text (OCR)” and download the file with the text.
Your files never leave your device
ToGoOven runs “Image to text (OCR)” in your browser, with code that runs on your device. The file is not uploaded to any server: nobody else sees it and it is not stored in someone else’s cloud.
Frequently asked questions
Does it read handwriting?
It is built for printed text. Clear handwriting sometimes works, but it is not reliable.
Can I put several photos into one document?
Yes. Pick them all and they come out together in one file, in order.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. “Image to text (OCR)” runs in your browser: the file is read and processed on your device, and the result is downloaded from there.
Is it free?
Yes, and with no watermark. The free plan shows ads, kept apart and unable to see your files. Premium removes the ads, works offline and accepts larger files.
Does it work without internet?
With Premium, yes: the tools keep working offline. On the free plan you need a connection to open the app, although the file is still processed on your device.
